Wine on the Rocks
It’s been a long time, almost 3 years to be exact. The last time I put pen to paper and talked about taking a trip, sipping wine, and feeling the sun was a month before COVID-19 changed the world. The world has evolved, changed, experienced a lot in 3 years. Hell, I’ve evolved, changed, experienced a lot. I have moved, grown, experienced loss, been blissfully happy, laughed, cried, smiled, and loved. In short, like millions of people around the globe, I’ve experienced life.
There’s no better place to live life, experience love, and cherish family than Hawaii’s Volcano Winery. Volcano Winery is located on Hawaii’s Big Island adjacent to the rocky Hawaii’s Volcanoes National Park.
Talk about the ultimate find…. in the beautiful land of black volcanic rock sits the most lush patch of green grass and home to some of the most unique grape, macadamia nut, guava, and tea wines.
Volcano Winery even sells mead. Yes, just like the “mead” in Netflix’s Thor Ragnarok. Mead is often referred to as nectar of the Ancient Greek gods. It is a wine made from fermenting honey. Volcano Winery’s mead is even more special in that it’s infused with different Hawaii island flavors.
My personal favorites were the slightly sweet, tea flavored infused mead and the tangy semi-sweet (read: mostly sweet) volcano blush.
The wine tasting experience is great at this volcano hideaway. I don’t know what I was expecting when I set out to visit Hawaii, but what I do know is that these beautiful islands exceeded even my most skeptical of expectations. So here’s a few more dreamy photos and videos to inspire your own island adventures.
